Ali shared several photographs, a few of which will appear in my book, one has taken centre stage as the introduction to the exhibition of the old town in Mosul. A few others show further devastation in the city, and three personal ones show his home after the repairs he undertook when Mosul was liberated from ISIS in 2017. The façade of his home showing the shrapnel marks, the window that shattered in his bedroom after a traumatic blast, and the rug in his living room that shows the return of life in the house after their brief displacement in 2016 can also be seen.
