Abrar shared photographs of the current state of informal/irregular housing “عشوائيات” that have choked Basrah city over the last couple of decades. These informal housing units continue to appear in the landscape, occupying any empty or vacant land in the city and suburbs. They are a product of forced and other forms of displacement due to religious, social, political or environmental reasons.
